Arrival of Jules and Evan
Despite the current difficult situation due to the Covid-19 epidemic, Innowtech has nevertheless wished to maintain its support for training courses (which have maintained the internships) and its assistance to students, by welcoming them on internships, as planned. With some flexibility and rules, we were able to welcome Jules and Evan.
The first week was entirely telecommuting with daily videoconferences, and allowed us to define the direction of work for the coming weeks and to get to know Innowtech and the products we are developing. The second week, Jules and Evan were able to join the team in our Nîmes office. The offices have been rearranged, the whole team is applying the health protocol in place, including one day of teleworking per week. Despite some delays in deliveries, Jules and Evan have now received all the equipment they need to start their R&D work with good results.
Jules, a student at the IUT in Mechanical and Production Engineering, is working on the definition of the sealing, in 3D printing, of PIPERIM: the robot for the inspection of pipes and canalisations (water). With a defined test plan and all the material at hand, he is now ready to assemble the test bench this week.
Evan is a student in IUT in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computing, he is working on the development of a software architecture under ROS (Robot Operating System): a set of open source software tools allowing to develop software for robotics which we talked about here.
